5/29/2023 0 Comments Velma scooby doo![]() Riverdale was a mess, but it's lasted 6 seasons and had at least 2 spin offs, with Chilling Adventures of Sabrina lasting 4 seasons itself. I'm just asking people to tone down the hyperbole and (where applicable) not make stuff up.Ĭlick to shrink. It still might for some subset of people out there. I'm not asking people to like it: I don't. ![]() I'm not saying the show is good: it's not. People can vent somewhere else until they are settled. Well, I'm not people's therapist, and I have no interest hate/spite thread. Someone up thread said something to the effect that people just needed to vent. Honestly, a third party could have probably animated this as a parody and had a decent shot defending it under fair use. I get avid fan's are pissed that something associated with fictional characters, stories, and worlds they care about - but this show really isn't. It's still a bad reaction for discourse, and it's a sign of not a particularly healthy level of attachment to something fictional. I've seen it before - I've had it before. This same sort of behavior is bad when it's in other franchises - including Star Wars and Indiana Jones, where people were acting like, and some cases even stating, that George Lucas raped their childhood. Off hand, pulling away emotional reactions based on attachment to Scooby-Doo, shit like Farzar - the only show in the last 12 months I actually stopped in the middle of watching - and Doc and Mharti are worse. People have been calling this the worst show ever and I don't think that's the case. I'm saying people should have some perspective. I'm not defending the show - I've literally said it's boring and pedestrian at this point. Sorry for the harsh words but I'm getting annoyed with this pointless argument, the show us bad so let's all just agree on it.Ĭlick to shrink.I've not said, at all, that the show is good. ![]() ![]() So cut that bullshit of yours with the whole defending, assumption and actually think of it from an avid fan's perspective. It is not an original work, your acting like it is, the show runners baited us with the use of Scooby Doo covering the fact that it's just a silly fanfiction thrash tier show that doesn't and can't stand on it's own without using an original IP attached to its name. Stop with your defending of the show, it is bad, so people will shit on it, it disrespected the characters so people will be angry. Would Star Wars be star wars without the Force? Would Lord of the rings be the same without the ring? What if gandalf was black, gay and an asshole that cracked jokes every second would you expect people to not seriously be fucking mad? The show is bad because of it is a Scooby Doo show with a dumb and stupid plot, bad humor and shitty characters and most of all because it doesn't hold the essense of Scooby Doo. Then suddenly a new IP arrives and ruins said characters before your eyes and you expect people to not react badly because it is imaginery? That's sorry for the crude tongue, fucking dumb. Imagine growing up with characters that captured your attention and made you invested in there story, each one told in more brorder ways during the years but still sticking and respecting the original work. Dude, so let me explain in detail since you're not clearly understanding this. ![]() The second element is the development of rules of communication for computers that enable the machines to turn raw data into useful information. The first is the persistence of the Internet-its Cold War beginning s necessarily influencing its design as a decentralized, indestructible communication network. Yet there are a few elements that have stayed constant and that provide a coherent thread for examining the origins of the now- pervasive medium. From its early days as a military-only network to its current status as one of the developed world’s primary sources of information and communication, the Internet has come a long way in a short period of time. Explain the causes and effects of the dot-com boom and crash. Identify technologies that made the Internet accessible. Understanding how the Internet was conceived may help elucidate the ways in which the Internet functions today-from the difficulties of deleting an online persona to the speedy and near-universal access to the world’s information.Īs they relate to the early Internet. This transition from ephemeral media-TV and radio, practically over as quickly as they are broadcast-to the enduring permanence of the Internet may seem strange, but in some ways it is built into the very structure of the system. Google even keeps a cache of deleted web pages, and the Internet Archive keeps decades-old historical records. Not all social networks are like this-MySpace and Friendster still require users who want to delete their accounts to confirm this several times, but they offer a clear-cut “delete” option-but the sticky nature of Facebook information is nothing new (Aspan, 2008). The user must delete, item by item, every individual wall post, every group membership, every photo, and everything else. If a job application might be compromised by the presence of a Facebook profile, clearing the slate is possible, albeit with some hard labor. The website does allow the option of deactivating one’s account, but “Facebook servers keep copies of the information in those accounts indefinitely (Aspan, 2008).” It is a double-edged sword: On one hand, users who become disillusioned and quit Facebook can come back at any time and resume their activity on the other, one’s information is never fully deleted. Ran an article, “How Sticky Is Membership on Facebook? Just Try Breaking Free”-a title that seems at once like a warning and a big-brother taunt. In 2008, as Facebook was quickly gaining momentum, The content on social networking sites like Facebook, where people use the Internet to meet new people and maintain old friendships, is nearly indestructible and may not actually belong to the user. Instead of showing a complete stranger your pictures from a recent party, it might be a better idea to hide those pictures and replace them with a well-written blog-or a professional-loo king website. Your presence online can be the equivalent of your first words to a brand-new acquaintance. Fir st im pre ssi ons are an im por tan t thi ng to kee p in min d whe n mak ing an onl ine per son a pro fes sio nal ly acceptable. Someone in charge of hiring could search the Internet for information on potential new hires even before calling references. Those online photos may not look bad to friends and family, but one’s online persona may be a hiring manager’s first impression of a prospective employee. ![]() The ubiquity of Web 2.0 social media like Facebook and T witter allows anyone to easily start developing an online persona from as early as birth (depending on the openness of one’s parents)-and although this online persona may not accurately reflect the individual, it may be one of the first things a stranger sees. ![]() If the first thing that comes up is a Flickr album (an online photo album from the photo-sharing site Flickr) from last month’ s Olympian-themed cocktail party, it may be a good idea to make that album private to ensure that only friends can view the album. This could entail “Googling”-shorthand for searching on Google-their own name to see the search results. However, there is a new step that is now an integral part of this application process-hiding (or at least cleaning up) the applicants’ virtual selves. After all, everyone applying for a particular job is going through this same process, and b arring great disas ters, the chances of s omething parti cularly negative reaching the desk of a hiring manager are not that great. The hiring manager understands that this is a biased view, designed to make the applicant look good, but that is all forgivable. It used to be that applying for a job was fairly simple: send in a resume, write a cover letter, and call a few references to make sure they will say positive things. The cross over will be wherever the signal strength is roughly the same between multiple wireless points and may take you doing another survey if you see evidence of the devices switching back and forth (ping spikes for example). The crossover may not be obvious for buildings that aren't uniform between each point and may take another wifi check to see. Try to leave the middle/crossover of each node/WAP away from an area of main use if possible so that there's less of a chance of your devices switching between them constantly. away may have a ceiling and wall between it and the source. Think three dimensionally for multi-story places. If you have concrete or masonry blocks you're probably going to want to resort either dropping cabling throughout the house to a central switch that is then cabled to a router for cable connectable devices or for wireless access points, either to the switch or straight to the router. You can use your best guess and then check after if you need to.Ĭoncrete blocks a lot, masonry block is just about as bad, brick is blocks signal noticeably but much less the equivalent concrete and usually isn't as bad as you'd think, wood and drywall aren't too bad considering and glass does block some signal but its pretty minimal. Concrete with rebar is going to block a lot more signal strength than dry wall for example. Walls and ceilings, depending on the type of material lessen this of course. 70 dBm or greater = OK or 5 out of 10 maxĪ good rule of thumb is to place mesh nodes or wireless access points no less than 25 feet from the wifi source by unobstructed line of sight so that they don't interfere. 65 dBm or greater = Good or 7 out of 10 max 30 dBm or great = Great or 10 out of 10 max On the floor plan I'd jot down either the power or word or rating like this: You'll then want to go to each location where you'd potentially think about placing your router, wifi access points or mesh nodes. You could use something like draw.io -> Create new diagram -> Other -> Floor Plan or you could of course use something like Visio or even use basic shapes in your favorite graphics application. Once you have your best channel selected for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, print out a floor plan for your building/home/whatever. I recommend changing to the best channel manually. I wouldn't depend on the "Auto" channel select feature for your router/access points. The things you want to check for are strength of your own signal but also you want to check for channels other wifi sources are using and their power compared to your own power. What you do is with one of these open, you walk to your desired spots around the location and check both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I think the free version limits you to only 3 data points. Looks like their TLS (https) certificate expired today, so you're going to get an unsecure warning.įor paid, there's Netspot for Windows, MacOS and Windows with floor plans and such but it is ~$50. ![]() The also have some usage tips.įor Windows there is InSSIDer and the lite version is free. So here's some info about how to bypass it if you can. Note that Android may limit wifi scanning to save power. There is the underrated (seems like its ad latent competition by the same name gets more google search results) open source WiFi Analyzer for Android. There are some apps that let you do a floor plan if you pay. |
